This whole thread is an interesting read, but this quote generally sums up one of my ongoing fears. None of us stay young and free of "pre-existing conditions" forever.

Maybe it's because I've spent the last year trying to learn more about my Slavic heritage (and Ukraine specifically) as part of my private process of deconlonization, but the current crisis is stinging in a particularly personal way.

"The Ukrainians always came first, even though we Africans would be there for days and sometimes three days with no food. Everyone was just exhausted. Any time Ukrainians came, they told us to go back." Our report from the Polish-Ukrainian border: theglobeandmail.com/world/article-…

Desperately wishing I'd planted a field of English Bluebells and Early Snow Glories like I had wanted. The little joys are needed in a world that feels like it's trying to self-destruct.

Read this story till the end. During WWII some children were making diaries from concentration camps & occupied cities by nazis. History is repeating. This is a diary of Katya, a 16 years old girl from Mariupol, whose mother died in the basement👇😢

What's the recommendation on rapid testing when you're in a house with a Covid+ person? We're trying desperately to conserve our few RATs. My partner & I, who are currently isolating with no symptoms, decided to test ourselves at the end of his son's quarantine. Good idea? Bad?

COVID Twitter stresses me out. We have been so cautious, sometimes to the point of eye rolls. It still found us. And the long-term outlook from experts - about the pandemic & about the bio effects of the virus - offers little consolation. 2 years later - tired & still scared...

If we are going to make MAiD more accessible for people, then we have a duty & moral obligation to make housing, harm reduction services, mental health & income supports, more accessible too. ctvnews.ca/health/woman-w…

Please tell me I'm not the only one who gets mask lines on my face. If I take my mask off to have a bite to eat, I look like I just had a nap on the couch.

These "restocking" & "bulk meal prepping" TikToks makin' me feel bad. Like, I need a nap after buying groceries. Are they hobbies? Is one meant to work full time & do these tasks? And how're they doing it all with kids, because I have 2 dogs who take up nearly 90% of my energy.

Anyone know how to report a tree on a powerline on our property? I've tried calling the designated line but there is no answer or there's a notice saying call volumes are too high. The app/online doesn't allow downed line reporting. Should we just keep trying? #ONStorm Hydro One

So... I guess I gotta BBQ a bunch of meat this afternoon... Also, using my car as a generator to charge my phone feels sacrilegious.

Is there like, an outdoor karaoke night in Norwood or have the forest ghosts got themselves a mic? Because a slightly off-key rendition of "Love Shack" is floating hauntingly through the night air.

Sometimes I just want a landline, a bike ride to Becker's, and a Saturday evening courtesy of Blockbuster. #MillennialNostalgia

Shoutout to my partner's doctor for calling me back so quickly this morning & alleviating my worries about his COVID symptoms. We are truly lucky to have great Healthcare providers in Ontario and we MUST protect them at all costs.
