If you're looking forward to a weekend in your local park, why not start it off by helping it be named amongst the UK's Favourite Parks? 🗳️

Back in the summer of 2019, when he was the Parks Minister, Rishi Sunak MP wrote a guest blog post for us. A lot has changed since then – but the new PMs fundamental point “Parks do people a world of good” remains as important now as it was then. fieldsintrust.org/ArchivedNews/a…

Lovely to be at the House of Lords with our friends Groundwork UK yesterday to celebrate their 40th birthday! So many stories of the life changing impact they have had on countless communities to date and their critical role in some of the greatest challenges ahead.

Pleased to have been part of the Advisory Group working on this project helping to deliver better outcomes for communities though green infrastructure. Protecting the future of this infrastructure will be crucial to its long term success 💚

A 20-minute walk to the nearest park has left children without opportunities to play for years.Fields in Trust 💚 calling for 4k more spaces by 2033 ‘Most of our children live in flats’: London park boarded up by developers theguardian.com/environment/20…

£350m decline in funding for playgrounds. A depressing read & a reminder from Play England that Westminster is lagging behind Wales and Scotland in creating a proper strategy for children & play. England’s playgrounds crumble as council budgets fall theguardian.com/environment/20…

Lovely to chat to BBC Hereford & Worcester this morning about parks, paddling pools and how Fields in Trust 💚 works to make sure we all have access to green spaces to cool down in💚. Miraculously the only 4 year old heard on the subject was not the one in my house who wanted to have a say!

Sadly, on Wednesday this week the amendment we were calling for was voted down by just 2 votes🚫 But we won't give up the fight, & will continue to call for the urgent reform needed 💪 Because planning policy really should work to boost green space & improve people's health ✅

After much wrangling finally managed to get back into my account! Lots of good conversations happening but we need to keep the pressure up and on 💚
