Swanpool completely sheltered this morning despite crazy winds elsewhere. And stormies absolutely everywhere!! 210 euros and 3 leach's IDable since 10:45 with loads more on the horizon we couldn't do anything with! James Drage Hubert Cornwall Birds

A great talk by Kate, organised by Cornwall Birds. Brilliant that we could stream it live to our group of students at University of Exeter. An enjoyable evening and looking forward to more of this in the future! EcoSoc

White-crowned Sparrow eventually showed at Rosudgeon today. It’s the first for Cornwall so really pleased to connect. Pic by James Drage-Hubert. James Drage Hubert

Nice surprise when on arrival to Rosudgeon, the White-Crowned Sparrow popped up right in front of us! Great to experience a cracking first for Cornwall with so many other birders. Cornwall Birds

400+ Common Dolphins in Falmouth Bay this evening under the light of the most outrageous sunset - absolute heaven Jumping dolphin video by James Drage Hubert

I'm incredibly grateful to Ben Hancock-Smith for managing to capture the unbelievable moment one of today's 3 Pendennis Humpback Whales breached, drawing audible gasps from the hundreds gathered at the point, and for letting me post the pics here. What a moment!

When I popped down to Pendennis Point with my parents this afternoon for a little walk, I wasn't expecting to find a Humpback Whale! It got even better when it was joined by another two! All three showed very well until dusk. They certainly drew a crowd! MarineWatch

EGYPTIAN GOOSE!!! Incredible scenes, hard to believe it’s only March but we’ve already had the Tremough 10k bird of the year!! Patch birding doesn’t get much better than this 🎉🥳🍻🎊🍾🤯 Matthew Broadbent James Drage Hubert Louis P Cornwall Birds

Nomada sp. found by James Drage Hubert at Lowland Point on the Lizard in West Cornwall today. It keys nicely to N. subcornuta which would be a very good record. No Andrena nigrospina but lots of A. pilipes on site. Steven Falk can I get your thoughts please?

Thanks to James Drage Hubert for finding my first Azure Hawker in Scotland this afternoon!

Returning home from a mind-blowing University of Exeter CEC Scottish Field Trip. A whole suite of Scottish specialities and great wildlife encounters. 115 bird sp inc Wood Warb, Black Grouse, Crested Tit, Hen Harrier, 2 Eagle sp and crippling views of all 3 diver sp.

Myself and James Drage Hubert popped along to a Scilly rockpool safari led by Scott Reid today, resulting in 4 new species for me: my long-awaited Candy-striped Flatworm & Rosy Feather-star found by other participants, along with self-found Gangly Lancer sea spider & Dover Sole!

A quiet walk at Kynance this evening turned when James Drage Hubert spotted a Hoopoe across the valley. This became better when that Hoopoe multiplied to two on the path infront of me. Just to finish off, a Purple Heron proceeded to fly in off the sea over one of the Hoopoes! Cornwall Birds
