Today @codingwithclair & I, spent the day preparing an experiment we will run that controls the number of restaurants displayed based on load. This is one of the code patterns we use extensively to toggle between (and turn off) AI models: gist.github.com/pedrocunha/af7…

Marine traffic around the UK, in maps. Just a bit of summer blog fun, but actually quite interesting. Loads more maps here, including zoomed-in versions: statsmapsnpix.com/2018/08/watchi…

Exhibit at the Roca London Gallery on Jane Jacobs featuring Goodcitylife. The visualization of "The Death and Life of Great Italian Cities" is its centerpiece. Also happy to see people playing with smelly maps and with its physical version on a pinboard #DataLifeFutureCities #LDF18

Two main lessons Desi Hristova learned while working at Deliveroo: 1) need for customized maps (riders are happy to stop and walk, if is easier, so multi-modal transport is key) 2) the world is not flat (elevation matters, and nasa-provided maps helped) #databeers

Amazing talk from Charles Boutaud on finding a void in government reporting of homeless deaths, creating a database and collecting data from scratch and finally influencing the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to start collecting data and reporting on this officially.. 👏 #databeers Databeers London

It's out! Geographies of Digital Exclusion. My new open-access book with @dekstop. Data and algorithms shape how we perceive and move through space. Inequalities and exclusions within digital datasets therefore fundamentally influence our lived and experienced geographies.
