Democrats of all stripes have a more favorable view of Obama than of Biden, but that's only because they didn't do an oversample of foundation program officers. policy.paradigm.xyz/writing/Dem-po…

CBS: "Many voters are still learning about Harris, creating a crucial test for the party this week. A third says they don't yet know what she stands for. Most voters think her views are similar — but not entirely the same — as Joe Biden's..." cbsnews.com/news/new-poll-…

Rents are lower and homes are more affordable when we build more homes. That’s why President Biden and Vice President Harris have put housing at the center of their economic agenda.

It's a public health imperative to know what's going on with Novavax, our only non-RNA vaccine for COVID19/SARSCoV2. So FDA should shed as much light as it can. At minimum it should commit to a fair process. If the issue is with Novavax, then Novavax should reveal what they can.

The majority of the housing stock is owned by owner-occupants. The majority of the rental stock is owned by landlords with under ten units. Despite very low levels of concentration, landlording exhibits traits of a non-competitive market because land use limits entry.

That lesson might seem obvious, but it runs against the AFFH norm that calls for upzoning of suburban single-family-home neighborhoods. /5

This gets at one of my only disagreements with the YIMBY consensus. We YIMBYs rightly decry gov't requirements that reduce housing production. But AFFH *is* one: it reduces expected housing yield by forcing it into n'hoods that don't want it instead of n'hoods that don't care.

After the November elections, SFPD needs a new police chief. No action can be done right now since the Peskin-Preston voting bloc still controls the Board of Supervisors. But in 2025, this should all change. New leadership is needed.

“Upzoning with strings attached” often backfires. #Seattle’s poorly-designed program has discouraged building smaller, missing-middle apartment buildings (e.g., fourplexes) in the locations where they are most needed: in mixed-use areas near transit.” 1/3

Dean Preston not only opposed the laws that made this affordable housing possible, he told local NIMBYs he deferred to them on whether it should be built and called for more community meetings first when the mayor proposed increasing height to 8 stories. nimby.report/preston
