Interesting…the first thing I wonder…is this partially a result of resources/attention being diverted as a result of the Mayor’s new race series?

Last night’s board meeting has me thinking ask much about this idea of “gap gazing”. Definitely recommended reading: graduatetacoma.org/wp-content/upl…

Kentuckians across the Commonwealth- urban, suburban and rural- have a clear choice this November. Vote NO on Amendment 2. It is the right choice for our students, our communities, and our budget. #VoteNoOn2 #VoteNoOnAmdendment2 nkytribune.com/2024/09/opinio…

🙅 School vouchers were never intended to rescue marginalized populations. School vouchers were always intended to pad the pockets of the privileged. 💰

Rumor has it there is a multi million dollar ad drop from the Yes On 2 folks with lots of out of state money that should be dropping soon. Lots of money being spent to try to destroy public schools and prop up private schools most families can’t afford even with a voucher.

Jeff Yass, a homegrown billionaire from the Kentucky city of Pennsylvania, has given $8 million dollars to the PAC that will be funding ads supporting amendment 2 to take tax dollars away from Kentucky's public schools. /1

Shame on the adult politicians that continue to subject kids across the country to the real fear of being shot at school. Kids deserve better than this.

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg says the city built 18,000 new affordable housing units in the last five years. jacob ryan looked into the data, and found the number is actually far lower. lpm.org/investigate/20…

This is a beautiful map. I'm not proud of all of KY's policies, but Im proud of our investment in public schools. Did you know KY is above the national average for low income students NAEP? Our public schools did that.

A cautionary tale from Indiana: A 2023 report found voucher program cost grew nearly 800% between 2012 - 2019. In the same period, Indiana decreased per-pupil funding for public education by 1.5 % while the other 49 states averaged an increase of 10.8%. indystar.com/story/news/inv…

Clearly, Amendment 2 is NOT going to give low-income families a choice to go to these private schools in Lexington, just a tax giveaway to those who already do.
