Got down a VERY rough draft of a new poem today: "The Anti-Hydra." Very Cosmic. I like it. It's has the power, the weight and then optimism, I'm currently going for. It's 32 lines, 185 words and sure to be shorter when I edit it. #amwriting

It's October and I just started a new HORROR story. Life does NOT suck... This one I'm calling "T" for now. Got down 1,514 words today to start. It's based on some experiences from my recent trip to Japan. Excited to get this one barrelling towards its climax. #amwriting #horror

At tonight's Poetry Meetup, I got some good advice. Now, my new poem "Harmonium" is finished, at 10 lines, 56 words. AND my Horror poem "Shine Back" is now wrapped at 24 lines. I'm proud to report that I used the Fibonacci sequence in 1 poem and the word "chthonic" in the other!

This Podcast had everything I look for...It's about Horror, yes, but like all things I truly LOVE in Horror it transcends the genre, becoming a conversation about gender, culture, aging, and, well, life. And is insightful and fun the whole way through. 10/10, I recommend!

Don’t know what you are doing the next 24-48 hours, but here’s what I plan to do: 1. Turn off ALL social/traditional media 2. Go for a walk 3. VOTE! 4. Listen to music 4. Check in on friends I will tune back in 10 pm EST, Tuesday. I plan to sleep if it isn’t called by midnight.

Where do we go from here? Well. I don’t know about you, but here’s a little glimpse of my plan… First, don’t give up. The battle is not for the day or the hour, but all of life.

2nd, I believe the only way to truly strengthen our republic is ensuring everyone’s rights. That means if you’re a man or woman; White or Black; Straight, Gay, Trans; or anything else, you have a right to exist and pursue happiness as you see fit—not as others define it for you.

Third, if you’re a writer, a musician, an artist, or anyone who creates stuff, here’s my wish: That you take all that you’re feeling now…All of that hurt, all that anger, all that grief you feel and turn into something lasting and beautiful. Something powerful and earth-shaking.

I may be biased, but I think that’s particularly true of writers. In the past, when things were bleakest and all hope was lost it was often writers, and scribes, and storytellers that people turned to. And the people heard their words—and remembered what they had forgot.
