I can't put into words how much I owe to Dr. Sunny Shin for her mentorship and guidance these past few years. An exciting world of opportunities is laid out in front of me thanks to support from her and the rest of my wonderful network of peers and mentors.

Just returned from celebrating perhaps the best thing that has come out of my lab: my former PhD students Ty Crowl Dr. Joanna Maltbaek tied the knot on a perfect day near Rainier, surrounded by family and friends, ceremony officiated by our own amazing Stephanie! What a special weekend.

I am so excited to receive a K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award from NIAID. I look forward to the opportunity to establish my own lab studying the RNA biology underlying viral infection and antiviral immunity in the coming years, and for all the fun science to come!!
