So over the last few weeks, I set my students (and myself) the task of using counter factual reasoning in causal explanations, answering the question ‘Why did the English Civil War break out in 1642?’ It’s safe to say I am SO #PROUD of my Year 8’s Castle Manor Academy CMAHistory

Disability History Month is Nov 22-Dec 22. Whilst disability history should be woven into curriculums, I hope this resource will be useful to not only champion this month but also highlight where it can be further woven in. Link: drive.google.com/drive/folders/… 1/3 🧵

What a wonderful opportunity Year 9 had this afternoon to listen to David Olusoga. Thanks to the Festival of Literature for organising the event and for David Olusoga for giving his time. Year 9, remember the different versions of his book are in the @CastleManorPLC ready to be borrowed!

Members of the CMA history team have been out visiting castles this week. Mrs Beaton has set a challenge of #22castlesin2022. Here's Mrs Jones' castle for #1, Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland. If others from CMA are visiting castles this year, let us know so we can reach 22!

A Year 9 brought in some WW2 family history today. I was beyond amazed at what he brought in. The photos are colleagues of his great nanny from her time in the WRAF with messages on the back. The letters of commendation show what a contribution she made. Just incredible.

We are always learning at CMA History. This is an achievement that Miss Byrne should be #proud of and the Humanities Team are certainly proud of her! Listening to some of the things she has learnt will continue to strengthen our curriculum and the experiences of our students. 🙌
