What a wonderful opportunity Year 9 had this afternoon to listen to David Olusoga. Thanks to the Festival of Literature for organising the event and for David Olusoga for giving his time. Year 9, remember the different versions of his book are in the @CastleManorPLC ready to be borrowed!
Our Year 7 students listening to the amazing David Olusoga during the Festival of Literature 👍👍 #ghsreads #edutwitter #libraries
It's fair to say we loved all of these Festival of Literature #picturebooks #ReadingIsFun
Our Year 7 students were treated to an inspiring interview with historian and broadcaster David Olusoga during the Festival of Literature yesterday. Groups across the school have more literary events lined up for this week. Thank you Festival of Literature! 📚
Thank you to David Olusoga for yesterday's inspiring session with Years 7 - 13 pupils. Our pupils also very much enjoyed their thought-provoking book club session.
Our #BookoftheWeek is the incredible 'Black and British: a short, essential history' by David Olusoga - a must read for everyone. Our KS3 History classes are participating in a virtual author event with David Olusoga all this week, with thanks to Festival of Literature #BlackandBritish
Festival of Literature Robert Muchamore This is fantastic. Authors in schools has always been great. Students love to see and hear the real people who create the unreal and amazing places in our imagination. Technology has made this easier and more accessible now and we should have much much(amore) of it in schools. 📚
'This history is all our histories': Beaumont School students were rapt by David Olusoga's presentation at the Festival of Literature this week as he talked about Black British history being 'dragged out of the shadows'. An enlightening and thought-provoking session.
Pupils performed with zeal earlier this week in the Literature Live final. Thank you to Chris Whitaker for judging and well done to all the performers for an amazing evening! buff.ly/3uD6pHw
Thank you so much to Reflective Movez and Emily Haworth-Booth 🌍 for your wonderful events with us today!
So fun to have my giant face streamed into Festival of Literature today like a smiley Big Brother! Even better to see these pics of the children drawing comics on the other side of the screen, invisible until now! Thanks for having me ❤️
Having been knitting since October, a group of Prep School pupils have created 6 amazing large blankets from the combination of knitted squares, which will be distributed to those in need through Knit for Peace. For many, this was the first time they have ever tried knitting!
