As a teacher, this is what I want to say to SOME parents: Stop making excuses for your kids. STOP IT. Teach them to earn things, not demand things. Hold them to a higher standard. Challenge them. That way, when I try to challenge them, they’ll know we both expect it.

I don’t run kids to exhaustion/failure. Last one, fast one leads to running until your body fails. I love it when they complain that workouts ‘were too easy.’ When they hit target times, they have a success in their heads & success become a habit. Workouts are for the body & mind

Some great performances yesterday at the Western Equinox Invite. Leading the Coyotes was senior Mattox Grove with a top 20 finish in a field with some of the state’s best. Next week we compete at the Ojo Rojo Invitational.

Another solid showing for our squads today! Mattox Grove medals for the 3rd meet in a row. Next stop, Twilight.

My son has run XC since 5th grade. He won his first two races and he was hooked for life. Proud of my son for winning his collegiate XC race for first the time in his career today! Enjoy your moment, son!
