With MNC President Cassidy Caron! We chatted about ensuring progress on the implementation of the Action Plan for the UN Declaration, the Indigenous Justice Strategy, the Métis permanent bilateral mechanism & how we can work together on what matters most for Métis across Canada.

Today starts the Métis National Council's lobby week, where President Caron and representatives from the MNC will be meeting with elected Canadian officials from different parties to present Métis Nation priorities for Budget 2024.

Today continued MNC's meetings on the Hill with MP's to reinforce Métis Nation priorities for Budget 2024, as well as our support for Bill C-53.

When the Métis Nation is successful, Canada is stronger. Thank you to President Cassidy Caron of MétisNationalCouncil for discussing ways we can support economic development for Métis businesses, housing for Métis citizen and education to strengthen Métis communities in Canada.

Today was another busy day of lobbying for the Métis National Council. These opportunities to share Métis Nation priorities for Budget 2024 as well as our support for C-53 are incredibly important.

Yesterday, I delivered my statement in the Senate Chamber in Michif, the language of the Metis Nation. I hope this historic occasion will show Michif children across the Homeland that there is a place for them in every decision-making space, even the Senate of Canada.

This act will make things as they always should have been—to recognize that Louis Riel is the first Premier of Manitoba.

It’s a great day for First Nations, Inuit and Métis kids and families across Canada. The inherent right of Indigenous families to care for their children is finally being recognized. A right that should have never been taken away in the first place.
