A great evening yesterday for the Ironbridge Lions Santa at Jule's Convenience Store Hadley. Santa entertained the local children, his elves and supporters were treated to a steady supply of samosas and hot drinks by the irrepressible Julie Kaur. A really lovely community event.

Daughter & grandkids off to London for a pre Christmas treat…train fails to appear. Nobody on the platform is surprised!!! I guess it’s what’s expected in a third world country.

In our third world country you won’t be surprised to learn that there was not an egg to be found in Tesco, Morrisons or Sainsbury’s…gave up before trying ASDA. No worries, the supermarkets will be full of Easter Eggs by the end of next week!!

#budget23 Those who can afford to put £10,000’s more into their pension schemes, with full tax relief, will be doing cartwheels of joy. It won’t keep doctors at work, it will enable them to retire even earlier.

#emergencycareTelford has it been decided whether PRH Telford will have a Local A&E or a UCC? Is there a plan for Royal Shrewsbury to become a consultant led fully staffed and equipped Trauma Centre, on a par with QE2 B’ham and Royal Stoke?

@tesco We’re in the customer vote for a Tesco Community Grant, a scheme which gives community projects like ours grants of up to £1,500. Tesco customers can vote in Telford stores during April to decide how much funding we get, so please support us next time you shop at Tesco!””

We were delighted to hear that our prostate testing programme has been selected to participate in the Tesco’s Community Grant scheme. Increasing costs have prompted us to search for additional funding sources to supplement the voluntary donations.

Today we'll be at The Ironbridge with our friends from Ironbridge Lions doing Silver Over The Bridge. Please bring some change to help us try to get the line of coins over the bridge. We will also be teaching CPR and AED use. Please come and meet us and help us raise some funds.

#Election2024 The left of the Labour Party & the right of The Conservative Party will determine the outcome. Currently they are both in self destruction mode…quite remarkable.

#fuelcosts Last week I was in Cornwall and paid £1.62 a litre for diesel…today in north Herefordshire I paid £1.32. Diesel was cheaper than petrol & I was £15 better off. Why aren’t our MPs all over this?

Graham Powell (@cabbagegrower) 's Twitter Profile Photo

#energybills Over the past week my 100% renewable electricity cost me a factor of three more that my gas cost. On my travels I witnessed diesel fuel range from £1.74 down to £1.34 a litre. Still too many profiteering.

#ILEZ don’t understand the fear…it impacts few vehicles. Why is there talk of ceasing to support a policy that reduces pollution? Show courage

#2024budget Apparently NI is to be cut by 2%. Does nothing for pensioners. I recall that NI was increased not that long ago to help fund social care. Obviously the government does not like older people.
