Our community support can only ever be as good as our understanding of the needs and opportunities within the community and, as a Friend of the Lions, you can play an important part in shaping our programme by alerting us to needs and opportunities which we might otherwise miss.

Ironbridge & Severn Gorge Lions have launched their annual Christmas Food Appeal, which enables the club to donate food parcels to those families and individuals in crisis over the Christmas period. Please help if you can, the details are below...

Ironbridge Lions collect unwanted spectacles and send them to the Lions UK recycling centre. Santa and his sleigh will be at Tesco Madeley from 10 am to 4 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (December 2nd, 3rd and 4th) and he will be very happy to take away your old specs.

Ironbridge Lions collect unwanted spectacles and send them to the Lions UK recycling centre. Santa and his sleigh will be at ASDA Telford from 10 am to 4 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (December 16th, 17th and 18th) and he will be very happy to take away your old specs.

Santa took his sleigh, and a couple of his elves, along to St George’s C.E. Primary School earlier today. It was a somewhat chilly day but everyone had a wonderful time. Christmas is a truly joyous time for children and we are pleased to play a small part.

A great evening yesterday for the Ironbridge Lions Santa at Jule's Convenience Store Hadley. Santa entertained the local children, his elves and supporters were treated to a steady supply of samosas and hot drinks by the irrepressible Julie Kaur. A really lovely community event.

Just before Christmas we received a donation - a Selfridges Hamper, which we decided to raffle amongst our members and friends. The raffle raised almost £300 and today Dot & Frank’s ticket was drawn by Verity from The Toy Box Ironbridge. Thanks to all involved.

Applications have opened for our 2023 Silver Over the Bridge events. We have enabled local groups to raise funds on the iron bridge for over 40 years. If your group would like to take part details of the event and how to apply are attached. We look forward to hearing from you

We first met Paula at Christmas last year when she donated Crayola art sets because she couldn't bear the thought of children not having presents at Christmas. We met Paula & husband Robert yesterday, when they donated a car boot-load of tinned food to support those in need.

Ironbridge Lions will be on the iron bridge this Sunday for their first “Silver Over the Bridge” event of 2023. Raising funds for the Ironbridge Coracle Trust - bring a coin or two as we try, once again, to span the bridge with coins (and notes!)

The second Silver Over the Bridge event of 2023 will take place on Sunday 30th April in aid of Telford First Responders. Pop along to the iron bridge between 10am and 4pm and help us to raise much needed funds for this great cause.

On Sunday 28th May Ironbridge Lions will be on the Iron Bridge running a Silver Over the Bridge event to raise funds for the Buildwas Players. Come and join us between 10am and 4pm as we, once again, attempt to cross the bridge with a line of silver (or gold) coins.
