Bit of a left field moth this morning: unless I'm overlooking something else, all I can make this into is Nodaria nodosalis. Can't find any mention of it having occurred in Britain though. Eeek! Migrant Lepidoptera dave grundy🇪🇺😷 UK Moth Identification
Today, two things I had never seen before. A sunbathing Sparrowhawk, wings and tail spread and then this Adder, caught out in the open, it started moving backwards, immediate reaction was that the head was the tail, assume an anti-predator tactic. Amphibian and Reptile Conservation

Visited the site of my first full-time permanent countryside job today. Pleased to say it looked good, Rhododendron almost all gone, Heather widely developed and lots of visitors enjoying the day. c45 yrs between these 2 leaflets. Countryside WSCC
CPRE The countryside charity Biodiverse brownfield land outside of the Green Belt and full of scarce birds, insects and plants (1, 2). Species-poor, agriculturally unproductive, largely inaccessible, horsicultural Green Belt (3). I know which category I'd wish to protect the most.
