A small wildfire estimated at about one-quarter acre was burning in a steep forest on the southeast shore of Lake Whatcom Monday night after lightning strikes were reported in the area earlier in the evening. cascadiadaily.com/news/2023/aug/…

UPDATE: A hotshot crew has arrived. Aerial resources are grounded due to fog and rain. DNR is expecting another ground crew to arrive. On-the-ground crews are going to be most effective at battling the fire, which is burning extremely steep, remote hillside.
