Thank you to everyone who came out on the #labourdoorstep here in Emersons Green this morning! Great to have Bristol MPs Darren Jones MP, Kerry McCarthy and Karin Smyth out with us too. Vote Labour here in the Kingswood by-election on Thurs Feb 15th 🗳️🌹

Great to be out with Peter Kyle to support Damien Egan for the by-election in Kingswood. A lot of residents are unhappy that the conservatives have forced yet another by-election on them, let’s send the strong message that it’s #TimeForChange #GeneralElectionNow

The cost of living crisis is hitting families hard, crime is rising and people can’t get an NHS appointment. That’s what I heard on the doorstep in Kingswood today. Vote Damien Egan at the by-election on Thursday 15 February

Good to talk with Edward Rowe for BBC Politics West on the worrying rise of burglary in Gloucestershire. 🚨 We have 10% less police officers per person since 2010 The Conservative PCC has failed to deliver for our county. It’s time for change 🗳️ Vote Labour on 2nd May

The South Cotswolds Labour Party team was out in force yesterday in support of our brilliant Councillor & Police & Crime Commissioner candidates in Stroud alongside Stroud Labour Party friends. Good luck to you all today🌹

Our own Ashley Smith polled some 35,000 votes today in the election for Glos PCC. But congratulations to Chris Nelson | Gloucestershire's PCC on getting re-elected. #LocalElections2024

Revealed: tax loophole exempts 355 landowners from inheritance tax - including huge grouse moor estates & pheasant shoots I FOI'd HMRC for details & found this tax break is worth *at least* £68m & likely far more Rachel Reeves please fix this! 1/ theguardian.com/money/2024/oct…

Great blog by Ruth Chambers on the need to take the ecological crisis more seriously. Our approach to nature will define how successful we our in our health, economic, housing, and societal goals. We ‘need only look within our own borders to see the harm we wreak on nature’🌳🍃

Fascinating talk on nature markets by Sophus zu Ermgassen this evening, with lots of insight on how Biodiversity Net Gain could learn from offsetting research. Key question remains - can nature markets provide an adequate policy tool to help achieve conservation goals?Leverhulme Centre for Nature Recovery

Land ownership matters. Great talk by Guy Shrubsole on his new book “The Lie of the Land” for Stroud Book Festival. If we want to see nature recover, we have to start changing how land is owned and who owns it. Lots of interesting ideas - not least unleashing community right to buy! 🍃🌳

The Prime Minister was wrong to blame nature protection & regulators for stopping development🏡 Read our joint letter to Keir Starmer calling for an urgent meeting to discuss how #nature & sustainable development can go hand-in-hand👇 wcl.org.uk/docs/2024/lett… 📷Cassie Crocker
