Extremely alarmed about hits of and close to UNIFIL headquarter and positions, resulting in two injured peacekeepers - this is completely unacceptable and has to stop immediately! Everyone is obliged to ensure the safety and security of the Blue Helmets at all times!

We once again condemn the repeated attacks on UNIFIL peacekeepers. Their presence is mandated by the United Nations Security Council and everyone is obliged to guarantee their safety & security at all times! We have again made this position very clear to our Israeli partners.

At the United Nations Security Council briefing on Thursday on the situation in the Middle East, all 5 permanent members expressed support for UNIFIL and concern for the safety & security of peacekeepers in south Lebanon as they face unpredictable risks while implementing their mandate.

Packed agenda at today's #FAC 🇪🇺 Emphasised once again that attacks on UNIFIL are simply unacceptable and must stop immediately. I call on all parties to fully respect the mandate of the United Nations Security Council.

Very concerned about draft legislation by the Israeli Knesset regarding #UNRWA. Effectively halting their vital work in #Gaza and the West Bank will not add to #Israel’s security and stability.

Outraged by today's attack on UNIFIL resulting in eight injured Austrian peacekeepers! The safety & security of the blue helmets must be guaranteed at all times. Attacks on United Nations peacekeepers are a grave violation of international law and totally unacceptable.
