Great to see this collaborative study of ALK in neuroblastoma published - with the labs of our friends Yaël Mossé and Ravi Radhakrishnan: nature.com/articles/s4146…

What are we doing here, people? Apparently cancer has been cured and it’s not even funny! Looks like I’m going to have to find a new career… 😂😂😂

Why inhibit only one KRAS mutant when you can inhibit multiple KRAS alterations at the same time. Our pan-KRAS inhibitor paper is out. nature.com/articles/s4158…

Really cool studies show that Alanyl-tRNA synthetase (AARS1) lactylates two of the most important proteins in cancer (YAP and P53) Treating cancers with beta-alanine inhibited lactate binding to AARS1 and in vivo tumor growth! cell.com/cell/fulltext/… jci.org/articles/view/…

When you come across a paper that generates a large dataset (e.g., RNA-seq, CRISPR screen, etc.) that'd be incredibly useful for your own project.... but you look in the supplementary materials and realize the authors didn't include the raw data from the dataset:

Have been sitting on this for a few days and am now really excited to share *4* papers just published online today in Cancer Discovery, with variations on the theme of cancer cell #plasticity as a mechanism of resistance to #KRAS inhibition aacrjournals.org/cancerdiscover… (🧵)

Always ask what the training set is. ML models have their uses, and those uses are often close to home. We need more things directed at target selection & clinical outcomes, but also a LOT more data there to make the models work. science.org/content/blog-p…

“There are not, and will never be, KRAS inhibitors” 👀 PascaLab presents a memorable reviewer comment from her 1st unfunded NIH grant at #AACRPan24. The lesson is that you should not let deflating reviewer comments define the value of your science. Also, persistence!

I just read a recent Nature paper that only used one shRNA per gene for their knockdown experiments, didn't do any rescue experiments verifying that the shRNA-induced phenotype was an on-target effect, AND didn't even show qPCR or Western Blots confirming gene knockdown🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
