Volunteers from our East Wicklow Branch over the weekend balancing; Tree sapling TLC (Tender Loving Care) with critter spotting and a chance to harvest berries from 3 old rowan trees! The 3 trees were once the only trees on our Coill na Luise reserve, now there are thousands! 🌳

The biggest water body on this island is in "total collapse" and all we have seen from politicians is promises for consultations and pilot projects that are destined to fail. Radial action is needed! independent.ie/irish-news/its…

After 2 years of work, I've finally taken delivery of an actual printed copy of my second book 'The Magic of an Irish Rainforest: A Visual Journey'. I've done my best to capture the essence of these priceless, but mostly dying, ecosystems, and am over the moon with the results.

Let's save our non-native Larch, but double down on the destruction of our native hawthorn and rowan x.com/NativeWoodTrus… farmersjournal.ie/news/news/fire…

These are photos from my Instagram account from *last* summer. I haven’t seen a single red or orange butterfly in Dublin 7 this year. Not a Peacock butterfly, not a Tortoiseshell, not a Red Admiral. I’ve only seen one red butterfly *anywhere* this summer. Sad & worrying.

We were delighted to welcome Optum OptumRx back to our stunning Bevans' Wood reserve for some TreeAm building! We managed to plant 80 trees of a wide variety of species, including hazel, alder, hawthorn and rowan, being planted for good in our reserve 🌳

🌳This is brilliant! We need similar ambitious projects here in Ireland. ⛰️ What about some our iconic mountains? Nephin? Croagh Patrick? Mweelrea? theguardian.com/uk-news/articl…

In places where bat populations crashed, insect numbers increased, farmers sprayed more insecticides to combat the insects, and the infant mortality rate spiked due to pesticide exposure. Everything is connected. We need biodiversity. bit.ly/3XwmbBO

Well, we won't be collecting Elm seed from this monster. One of the biggest, healthiest elms around- the only thing wrong with it was to be in the care of a local council.
