Lisa Morrison Department of Health RQIA The RQIA essentially is the Department of Health.

Why do Department of Health not hold RQIA to account? If this is the case in inpatient, what does it say about CMH which they didn’t regulate 14yrs? Towards Zero Suicide was looking at restrictive practice in ‘19 so how was this still problematic a no. of yrs later? #NoAccountability

When the RQIA inspected Dorsy Unit in April 2022 they were also looking at areas of improvement identified in a previous inspection in 2016, which would have been 6 years ago, at the time of this inspection.

The RQIA did not inspect the Dorsy unit until April 2022 which is 7 months after (September 2021) the Southern Trust first raised concerns about their own hospital unit.

A clear example of the self regulation of the Northern Ireland Health Service.

Totally agree. ‘The damage of what doesn’t happen after’. What happened next, or what didn’t happen in terms of support was as bad (at times worse) than the abuse - because it felt so protracted.
