For about a year now, I've been saying that in Mississippi, Black women are 75 times more likely to die by carrying a pregnancy to term than by having an abortion. Goodwin provided new statistics. It's 118. Black women are 118 times more likely to die by giving birth. 118.

In Mississippi, if you're a Black women, your chances of surviving childbirth aren't great. Per the Mississippi maternal mortality report, Black women accounted for 80% of pregnancy related cardiac deaths. EIGHTY PERCENT. So don't tell me that you're pro-life. Don't ever.
