Soaring service charges are placing an intolerable strain on leaseholders.

Greater transparency is part of the answer but we need a more fundamental conversation about how we better protect leaseholders, and particularly shared owners, from unreasonable charges.

We need a strengthened Renters Reform Bill with additional protections for tenants against extortionate within-tenancy rent rises.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies research found that where Sure Start offered high levels of service in poor neighbourhoods in England, visits to hospital to treat injuries fell among all children of primary school age, and by a third of all 11-year-olds.

Too many of London’s private tenants face insecurity, sky high rents and poor, or even dangerous, housing conditions. They need better options and more support enforcing their rights, like these initiatives from Sadiq Khan Mayor of London

PM threatens to leave ECHR over Rwanda Plan. His threat undermines UK - human rights only if not too difficult politically. Time not on his side to exit ECHR. But he’s PM and puts UK’s commitment to human rights in doubt. Shame on him.
