The wealthiest 350 people in Britain have a combined wealth of £400 billion. But those with the broadest shoulders are apparently pensioners on eleven grand a year, carers working for free & Disabled people who live on the lowest benefits in Europe. Sounds fair.

Gorgeous girl Queenie has come back into our care through no fault of her own. She is around 2 years old and needs a home all to herself. She is very interactive, playful and loves a good head scratch. 😻 More and enquire: cats.org.uk/cherwell#adopt… #AdoptDontShop #CatsOfX

WheelieDealer I get they’re a hapless bunch but they seem to be obsessed with making themselves incredibly unpopular for reasons that aren’t obvious.

James Melville 🚜 It would have helped if he had raised the threshold for Winter Fuel Allowance to £15000 pa plus those entitled to housing benefit, attendance allowance and carers allowance. I'm not against those on high incomes losing it.

I urge all pensioners who are volunteers to withdraw your Labour in response to The Labour Party Rachel Reeves winter fuel withdrawal. She doesn't know the money we save in free Labour.

Very well and concisely said! So many people clearly have a daft idea that only "well-off" OAPs are affected and totally fail to grasp the issues caused for those who have contributed to a private or works pension, tiny in some cases, that puts them, agonisingly, £1 or £2 above.

FFS! Single people are discriminated against enough already! 25% discount is already at least 25% too little. #counciltax

One thing never mentioned re. homeowners (of any age) is the increasing cost of house maintenance/repair they face. My neighbours have just had a new roof on house coming up for 70 years old (like mine), it cost them £8000+. Not sure how I'd pay for that out of £221pw SRP.
