Happening now - House Education Committee meeting. The committee will consider HB 1886 (The Pennsylvania Promise) by Jordan A. Harris #PAPromise
HB 1168 is strongly supported by APSCUF and we thank Peter Schweyer for calling it up for a vote.
HB 1168 now up for a committee vote. This would add an APSCUF seat and an AFSCME seat to the PASSHE BOG. We thank Peter Schweyer and Rep. Tim Briggs for their work on this.

House Bill 1168 made it through second consideration earlier today. There was one amendment that failed by a vote of 102-100. APSCUF looks forward to a future vote on final consideration and we thank Peter Schweyer and Rep. Tim Briggs for their efforts on this legislation.

HB 2084 the #PAPromise passes out of the House Education Committee by a party-line vote of 14-12. We thanks the representatives who supported this legislation including its sponsors Jordan A. Harris and Senator Hughes. Also thank you to chair Peter Schweyer for running the bill.
