As a Trans Two-Spirit person, hearing a trans voice on the radio was powerful and is what South Dakota needs right now. We need that sort of representation and support, SDPB needs to be held accountable for their actions. This is despicable behavior.

Breaking news today on a South Dakota Public Broadcasting staffer who is no longer on the air, and is claiming “wrongful termination.”

For those who are still confused; SDPB refused to use They/Them pronouns, this isn’t an acute issue, this a wider issue of omission of trans/non-binary voices and identities. Vermillion residents and others are rallying because we know the maltreatment of staff at SDPB.
