When will the United States be one nation again?

The United States has never been more broken. Yes, I know exactly how broken we have been in the past.

My #NationalPoetryMonth 2024 saw many highlights. Among them are two that are landmark moments. First, to serve as host for TopTweetTuesday left me beyond chuffed. Second, to be included among such an astounding group of featured writers for East Ridge Review this month…WOW!

the wave
is not water

but through
water is revealed

as God
is not nature

but through
nature is revealed

I suppose

to see ourselves
in the eyes of
all of the others

is to risk the impulse
to share everything
in sight and sound

I am not convinced
humanity is ready
for such a moment

I’m not thoroughly convinced this is quite what the TopTweetTuesday challenge intended…It’s a “nature of H2O” poem, turned “nature of humanity” poem. I hope it hits the mark. Thanks to Matthew M C Smith and to Jen Feroze 💙 for hosting this week.
