APD officers went out to 22 locations in Zones 1 to Zone 6 to meet Atlanta residents & engage with the community during #NationalNightOut yesterday. We were overwhelmed with the support & love shown to our officers & were grateful for the opportunity to celebrate in-person.

APD works closely with Policing Alternatives & Diversion Initiative to assist with non-emergency concerns related to mental health, substance use, or extreme poverty. Dial 311 Mon.-Fri., 7am-7pm to make a referral so a PAD Harm Reduction team can go out & attempt to connect the individual to services.

The HOPE team along with Intown Collaborative Ministries conducted an assessment and outreach of the encampment in Zone 2. Routine outreach will be conducted within the next few weeks.

Gateway Center provides access to critical services and housing such as coordinated entry, basic needs services (i.e. showers, clothing closet, etc.), short-term residential housing (shelter), linkage to healthcare (medical, behavioral, and dental), and employment resources.

Thanks to the National Crime Victim Bar Association for recently inviting Major Singh & Sgt. Harris from the Community Oriented Policing Section to speak at their national conference. The workshop focused on bridging the gap between police & the communities they serve, specifically victims of a crime.
