They are pretty rare, but occasionally you will spot an adelie penguin with different coloration. This is one I spotted this summer when I was filming at Cape Bird with AntarcticaNewZealand. In the background the chicks are panting from the heat. #Antarctica #Penguins

It's hard to wrap your brain around just how big some of the glaciers in #Antarctica are. Flying over the Byrd Glacier, this was half way across after 6 minutes flying at 100knots. The top of the glacier on the Polar Plateau in the distance is about 100Km away. AntarcticaNewZealand
