Don’t mind him. He’s just… listening to his audiobook.

He jumps for a second, startled by the sudden arrival. “Cassie! Jeez, I gotta put a bell on you or somethin’.”

“… no.” He’s quickly closing the app as his voice-over cuts off.

Looking up from his phone, he smiles once he sees her. How is it that every time he sees her she puts a smile on his face? “I dunno how to follow it up,” Scott confessed with a shrug. “I mean, how do you top a book that ends with you and your friends saving the world?”

“Ice cream?” His brows perk up at that, and he nods quickly. “Absolutely. I’m always down for ice cream. Just one request, though…”

A small, very faint sigh leaves him at that. His eyes soften a bit, going from his usual goofy self to the more parental look. “I still don’t appreciate her getting a suit behind my back,” he says gently, showing he meant it while still being kind. “But I get it. I do.”

Don’t mind him! He’s just making some toast. And dancing in the kitchen while doing so.

“Morning, Cap,” Scott said, sipping from his own cup.

He holds up a finger, showing the seriousness of the situation. “No Baskin Robbins.”

“I’m doin’ alright. Keepin’ busy. You know how it is. How are you?”

They were a team, though. Even if she took action on this one without his approval, it ended up being okay. For the best. After all, what if she didn’t have the suit in the Quantum Realm? A small chuckle left him as he turned to look at her. “Is that a good thing?”

“I, um…” Standing before her, he held two small cups of coffee. A hand reached out, offering it to her as well as a faint smile. “I brought coffee?”
