Music filled the Metro Nashville public square this morning to celebrate 10 years of Music Makes Us, our program that brings music and support to Music City's public school students. 🎶🎶🎶 musicmakesus.mnps.org 🧡

Today, we celebrated National Education Week w/ performances from East Nashville Magnet marching band & Waverly Belmont Elementary choir. Music in public schools is essential. I'm proud to join Metro Schools & our partners to support #MusicMakesUs and their work supporting music in the classroom.

Our inaugural @mnpsnashville Metro Marching Classic was a success! Kudos to Dr. Jill Pitman, Eleni Miller and @mnpsnashville Director Dr. Battle for their leadership in making sure the Metro Marching Classic was inclusive of ALL of our wonderful MNPS Bands across the city!
