"#HBCUs have long outperformed better-resourced institutions in outcomes for Black students. Imagine what more they could do and how many more students they could serve with the infrastructure and tools necessary..." Great insight into the true “cost of attendance” for many scholars. These stories match the insights we gained from focus groups after Partnership for Education Advancement’s micro grant pilot with partner #HBCUs.

Yes - lean into the values of equity today and beyond. Higher Ed institutions must inspire ALL students to believe that they belong.

This is the tragedy of the #SCOTUS ruling that we can’t allow to come to fruition … an even more precipitous decline in opportunities for Black students.

Two of the nine states referenced also have state funding policies that undermine #HBCUs. It will be interesting to see how students from Florida A&M University fare in their suit against the state of Florida.

Did you know that on average, 62% of students at #HBCUs fund their education with a Pell grant? The NYT "College Access Index" only included "the most selective" institutions (21% average Pell). Zero HBCUs included.

How do you react when your daughter's assigned reading in English class is Frank Bruni Where You Go is Not Who You Will Be? It doesn't feel like an "antidote" to the "mania."

Grateful to be part of this transformative effort -- and especially grateful to our partner #HBCUs, including Norfolk State University and UMES for their strategic vision and unrelenting student-first approach.

apnews.com/article/hbcu-t… SC State University President Conyers, "This flexible funding has really allowed us to probably move five to seven years faster than the pace we were on." That's #HBCU transformation!

Important read on the funding gaps that public #HBCUs have faced and hopefully a positive step forward. washingtonpost.com/education/2023…

This event filled me with optimism about the future of equity in education. I’m marching forward alongside Partnership for Education Advancement #HBCUs with AI with this point from Mr. Khan Academy in mind: “Let’s turn fear into features.” MIT Open Learning Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE)

We are excited to share a new resource, "AI, Equity, and Affordability: A Primer for Higher Education Leaders and Educators," which explores how AI can be used to enable the mission and vision of HBCUs. Read it here: edadvancement.org/news/ai-equity…
