#OnThisDay 20th September 1301 the notorious Roger Mortimer, later Earl of March, married Joan, the de Geneville heiress, in the church of St Mary the Virgin in Pembridge in the Welsh Marches. Afterwards Roger rebuilt the church to its present form, the separate belfrey added.

Celebrating the Feast Day of Our Lady of Walsingham on 24th September 2024. In the 20th century Walsingham saw the restoration of pilgrimages to the shrine of Our Lady. Today there are both Anglican and Roman Catholic shrines.
