THE BOOK OF MATH was a real doozy to write, but I learned a ton! If you know a kid who loves gobs and gobs of info, this is the book for them! Plus the illustrations are *amazing* (thank you Paul Boston)

4yo is counting something (dunno what, he’s in his room by himself): 1, 2, 3, 4… (etc etc, gets up to 20), 20, 30, 40, 50… huh? #tmwyk

Playing around with "Bounce Bounce", from Anna Weltman's "This Is Not Another Math Book". What if we draw the path of the ball first? Can you draw the table? #noticeandwonder #playwithmath

“They (students, families) are not clamoring for a digital substitute for human relationship.” So true. In a time when we’re hearing students, teachers, families begging for more school counselors, we paradoxically are pondering how to shift more teaching to bots.

4yo: Count by 10s up to 6! Me: I can’t, 6 is smaller than 10. Pick a number bigger than 10 and then I’ll do it. 4yo: Ok… count by 16s up to 10! Me: Still can’t, 10 is smaller than 16! How about I count by 10s up to 60? 4yo: No! Count by 8s up to 6! #tmwyk
