A very large peranemid, the “dancing” motion is called the euglenid movement. The peranemid’s cell membrane is formed by hundreds of protein strips spiraling around the cell, and each strip can glide on the adjacent strips, allowing the organism to move like a belly dancer.

The Orkney Hood, found in a peat bog in 1867, is the only complete item of fabric clothing to have survived from early medieval Scotland. Date: c. 250-615 AD, now on display at the National Museum of Scotland.
