Incredible to say it, but we are discussing the consent of a new deep coal mine in the UK, despite all that has been said in recent years about the phase out coal. This is a very bad decision – supporting a technology of the past, with a very poor prospectus for new UK jobs.

The approval of the new coal mine in Cumbria is a big win for fossil companies and investors across the planet: ‘look even the U.K. says more coal is compatible with tough action on climate’ they’ll say. Repeatedly.
