Very sad news about Sarah Harding. I’m not sure we needed another reminder that life is so short and that breast cancer can and does affect younger people. Her diagnosis, like mine, should not have been so late.

Please please remember that breast cancer CAN be completely cured if diagnosed early. Early diagnosis gives you a way better chance (as does access to the right treatments at the right time but I won’t go into that right now).

PLEASE stop blaming young women for not 'catching their breast cancer early'. It is NOT their fault. There is no screening for women under 50 (mammos not sensitive enough and USS not a screening tool). #Breastcancer is more aggressive in younger women and we don't know why.

Young women get breast cancer because they are bloody unlucky. Some of them will die within a couple of years. It is NOT because they waited an extra few months to see their GP because of Covid. It is because #breastcancer mutates and develops resistance to treatment
