Our first artist in residence this month is Bourdeaux based photographer Pierre Lansac. His current 'portraits' capture the 'Laisse de mer' (all the stuff the sea leaves on the foreshore), telling stories of the Bay of Biscay. pierrelansac.fr

Our second artist in residence this month is Maile Bowen. As a mixed race kanaka maoli (native hawaiian) and Welsh person raised in Western Australia, Maile will explore the themes and strength found between the cultural resistance in Scotland and Hawai'i.

Back on dry land after a week at sea on the Muir is Tir Residency, utilising the boat and open ocean as research arena, featuring six cross-disciplinary participants from Scotland, England and upstate New York in collaboration with Sail Britain.

Our latest Residency features Finnish collective 'The Unsurveyed Area' with their collaborative project which looks at the shared history of humans and sheep on the Archipelagos of Rauma (Finland) and The Outer Hebrides which both feature UNESCO world heritage sites

On Thursday 8th August starting at 8pm we will be hosting a Short film event showcasing 3 filmmakers with connections to the island either by birth or through our Residency programme - there will also be an informal Q+A afterwards lanntair.com/events/event/b…
