Can we please stop vilifying teachers? Can we please not vote people into office who want to make educators like me the enemy? Vote for people who will work WITH educators.

Educators deserve pay raises. Educators deserve good benefits. Educators deserve protected planning time. Educators deserve work/life balance. Educators deserve support from administrators. Educators deserve fully-funded schools. Educators deserve more. Educators deserve better.

It makes me sad when a teacher assistant says “I’m just a para” when they introduce themselves to me…we CANNOT do our jobs without support staff. They are the backbones of our schools. No one is “just” anything on your staff. Make sure your support staff feel encouraged & loved.
