Can we ask that all visitors to Countess avoid the path from and to the canal as it is flooded and closed. Please stay away from all flood water & make sure pets are on leads at all times.
Never enter flood water as it may be deep, fast flowing and contain potential hazards.

Cars stranded, businesses flooded and people rescued from flood waters.

What hasn’t been added to this story is that Wirral Council have obtained Natural England NW consent to remove developing saltmarsh right in front of this portion of coast, a naturally occurring flood defence.

The real question is what happens next.

We’ve been told this is what’s going to happen for over 20 years. And this is just the start, not a one off event.

Things are going to get much worse in the very near future.
