If you go into cardiac arrest, without a defibrillator, you have a 7% chance of survival. If a defibrillator is on the patient within 3 mins, the chances of survival is over 70%. Every school, university, workplace, recreational place should have one. They should be everywhere.

Was interviewed on the radio last night, and a listener asked “if the vaccine works, then great you are protected. Why should I be forced to get one? Why do you care if I’m vaccinated? If you’re protected why do you care?” My answer:

If I have a choice between a 10-year medic or a medic with a degree, I chose the 10-year medic who also has a degree every time, because if we act now, that will be the norm in 10 years. Paramedics need (properly constructed Paramedicine) Degrees.

Whole blood was administered to this heavily trapped patient recently that our rescue trucks worked to free. If this isn’t a show of how far pre-hospital field medicine has come, I don’t know what is. We need to keep striving for the best for our patients.
