Today is a very sad day for Folkestone & MUSIC. The Chambers ceases to trade after 26 years. This week has been packed: we're now realising what we're going to miss: one of the best grass-roots music venues in the UK. Chris & Liz are legends & we'll forever be in their debt.

So happy to see Musical Opinion’s review of my Us, the most fleeting of all, premiered by Clare Hammond at Cheltenham Music Festival. They described it as “elegantly rhapsodic” with “a compelling reading of numinous intensity.” Royal Philharmonic Society

Oh dear! People I respect tell me I should have left here already & certainly should not be X-ing; whilst people I try to persuade to come to bluesky push-back, saying we should stay here & resist. The answer must be to do both - for a while; but Bluesky is the future. Join now!

The string quartet weekend was such a success - thank you to everyone who braved the conditions to come and listen to such talented first year college students - the viola player blew us away with his other talent ….

highlight of my year so far - discovering young talent for the first time is so wonderful - especially as he left his guitar on the train and we had to track it down

Music people, it's really time to make the eXodus to bluesky We need to make this new space our own - it's definitely safer than what is happening on X, with its sanctioned collapse into ethical decay & philistinism. We can make it really special & useful there. Be a pioneer!
