To anyone who wondered whether Oxfam took all the steps that it could to address the issues of which it became aware in Haiti, I would recommend reading this. The complexity of the issues at stake and the difficulty of the judgments required were unprecedented.

The Charity Commission is an independent regulator accountable to parliament, not government. Its credibility relies on everyone perceiving it to be politically neutral.
