I’ve finally done it! After days rewriting code, stripping the game to 1% of a single level, reducing graphics down to line art, & tweaking the firmware on the UVK-5 & MobilinkdTNC to pair to a keyboard & pass wireless audio. Doom now runs on my HT!

Unreal changed a lot during development, in a later prototype from 1996 it was basically a Quake clone at that point, from the HUD to the weapon position being centered, instead of being on the right side.

Looking at prototypes of old games is something I like to do a lot. Exploring the 1995 tech demo of Unreal is like looking at a time capsule, there's nothing much in it besides some levels and lighting showcase, but it's still fascinating and where it all started.

People are questioning Windows 95's performance on this thing. Here it is on Hand386 with the same CPU. You won't be playing games on it other than Solitaire & the likes, but you could read/write a document in Wordpad or dick around in Paint and whatnot.
