You are a disgrace. Connelly pleaded guilty was sentenced by the Rec of Birmingham & her appeal against sentence was dismissed by the Ct of Appeal. You’re meant to be a Conservative - who upholds our independent judiciary & believes in law & order. You’re none of these things

On flags...catching up with Last Night of the Proms. Rather wonderful. Lots of Union Flags. Yet not threatening, not ugly. In contrast to one interpretation of what was happening outside. Is this correct or a class thing?

Katy Hanson, Vice Chair, presents Daniel Bonich with a gift acknowledging his 4 years as CLSA Chair. Well deserved and the profession should be very grateful for his hard work over the years, constantly advocating on our behalf with the LAA and MOJ where he is hugely respected.

We are grateful to our sponsors, Bedrock Case Management, rockms.co.uk , and Adam Makepeace outlines to conference how their system can make our working lives easier - automatically chasing police officers on bail backs is just one example.

We are honoured to have Mark Evans, the next President of the Law Society, address conference. He gives a moving account of how the death of a friend at Hillsborough inspired his passion for law and justice. Mark is a proud Welshman and only the third Welsh President in 200 years

Sarah Myatt from Switalskis Solicitors represented Peter Sullivan who has the unenviable record of the longest time in custody for a wrongful conviction. Sarah started working with him some time into that sentence and overturned the conviction earlier this year.

I listened to BBC Radio 4 PM tonight with Evan Davis . Detailed unbiased analysis of the budget, a non confrontational interview with Zack Polanski (with whose politics I don’t agree but which I enjoyed) and then discussion about Easter Island statues. Let’s keep the BBC safe everyone.

Pleased to see Andrew Bishop and Katy Hanson quoted in the Law Society Gazette on the impact of outsourced prisoner transport on court delays and an already overstretched criminal justice system. 📖 Read the full article in the Law Society Gazette - P19: lnkd.in/e5QMrsQj
