Is feeling frustrated the correct outcome to the test that proves i'm not a robot? (Trying to access google scholar with Monash login, through a PeterMac proxy - which has previously worked)

The draft 2019 recommendation statement from #USPSTF on BRCA-related cancer risk assessment, genetic counseling, and genetic testing is available for comments. Note that the population wide screening/testing is still not recommended. uspreventiveservicestaskforce.org/Page/Document/…

The year is 2020. The technical challenges of working remotely are fast being overcome, multi person video meetings are the norm, but the dream of seamlessly filling in a PDF form without running into formatting issues remains elusive.

Now that the M1 macs have been out for a couple months, wondering if anyone has encountered any issues running RStudio or any bioinformatics/stats R packages on an M1? #Rstats

So many red flags with the claims made by Orchid - measuring parents polygenic scores to upsell them embryo selection & calling it precision medecine. Surprised genetic counsellors would support this - do any Australian genetic counsellors think it would be given the ok here?

What is this, a cover for ants? Pleasantly surprised a co-first author paper from my PhD made the cover of this issue of Journal of Pathology & amused the image on the site is so tiny you probably need a microscope to read it. Is this pathologist humour? onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/pa…

Nice to see this prostate cancer PDX resource published. Has been a great deal of effort from many people. As part of my PhD, I worked on characterizing the genomics of these high-risk primary tumors & metastases, and was able to contribute some of those findings to this paper.

People with experience with custom targeted panels - any suggestions/papers on selecting a set of (<100) snps that can be used to call 1000G or equivalent genetic ancestries?

Our new paper shows remarkable interest from the Aust public in DNA screening for medically actionable conditions. 92% willing to have screening, but concerns include life insurance discrimination. Aus govt must legislate consumer protection. jmg.bmj.com/cgi/rapidpdf/j… Paul Lacaze

A recent government-funded study has found one in three Australians who have genetic tests are charged higher premiums, have conditions placed on their cover, or are denied life insurance altogether. Public Health Genomics Doctor Dr Jane Tiller joins us.
