A-League clubs outside of the major cities doing well is what will keep the league alive. With smaller markets, these clubs can just as easily disappear with a downturn in revenue. For the sake of the league, these clubs need to stick around while the local game sorts itself out.

Slot knows that to get the most out of Isak, he needs to change how Liverpool play. With Salah leaving, he can steer his players towards providing Isak service rather than asking them to go at it alone. With a full pre-season under an evolved tactical style, Isak will do well.

Mourinho will lack the gravitas with top level players - like the average punter, they will see him as a relic of the past rather than an authority of the present. Similar to Rosenior's experience at Chelsea, I can't see Real Madrid players taking much to him.

What a career indeed. Says a lot about who Ashley Young is a player where he is still grafting at 40. While I don't think he really lived up to his potential, I still see him as an iconic Premier League player. Really has felt like part of the furniture in English football.

Say what you will about Nicholas Jackson, there's a fantastic striker there but it will take the right club to get those performances out of him. He is still only 24 - if he keeps his head up, I think he'll surprise a lot of people.

Grealish isn't an elite footballer but he is still a fantastic Premier League footballer. Grealish needs the right environment and controls to really thrive - I can understand why the injury has hit him for six. He has problems but they can be managed.

As is the great tradition of Watford Football Club, managerial sacrifices must be made to appease the football gods...to what end...Can understand why Still has lost his job but surely Watford will eventually find a manager who they want to keep.

Like Newcastle, Aston Villa need a squad refresh. The club needs a squad that can take on the minutes that are required for European football. Yet again, PSR rears its head - curious what Emery could achieve at Villa if he had more money to spend.

I was under the impression that Wolves appointed Edwards for next season rather than this season. It would be churlish to get rid of him now. That said, Edwards did make the mistake of attaching his name to a campaign that was doomed to fail. Should have stayed at Boro.

I want Howe to figure out how to evolve how we play. That isn't just in respect to tactical style but being able to adapt his approach between games and within games itself. A season without European football gives him the space to do this (if he can). #nufc

If the Leyton Orient players aren't listening to Richie Wellens, then maybe the problem is Wellens? Even if Wellens hasn't done anything wrong per se, if he has lost the dressing room then that is more a reflection of how he connects with his players.

NAC Breda just needs to cop that they were the worse side against Go Ahead Eagles. Dean James or not, NAC Breda would have lost. The fact they decided to spend money pursuing this case is baffling. How about play football better?

Hürzeler could achieve a lot at Brighton but he needs to crack the case when it comes to picking up results consistently. I don't know whether it has to do with his tactics, the players or the culture at the club but it does feel like the final hurdle before something special.

Andrew McVittie (@andrew_mcvittie) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Liverpool is a club that has a culture that is good enough to win titles but it isn't good enough to sustain title challenges season after season. There is an absence of hunger like Manchester City have where winning titles is the bare minimum. A work in progress it seems.

I am always advocate for managers to take time out to reflect on their previous job before taking on another. Boro dropped off with Carrick and I want to know what lessons Carrick learned from that experience. If he knows the 'why', Carrick is worth a punt for the role.

One of the downsides of fostering a club culture where the players have free reign in the dressing room. Egos more likely to butt heads and cause disruption at the club. Alonso wanted discipline and the players didn't. Only serves moments like this.

The winner here is Rashford. Rashford has rehabilitated his image as an elite football player. If Barcelona had the money, they'd keep him. The current state of their finances complicates this. There'll be plenty of clubs looking at Rashford this summer, wages aside.

Bruno is an excellent player and he is imperative to our success as a club. However, it is on Howe that we do not have a Plan B when Bruno is out. This is one of the biggest criticisms I have of Howe and it has lingered for years. Dependency can lead to disaster. #nufc

I hope Real Madrid do this for the plot. Honestly have no idea how Mourinho would fair at an elite club at this point - whether he succeeds or fails, the result will be a surprise. I criticise Perez regularly but this helps atone for his crimes against football.
