RIP D’Angelo, don’t even know what to say. Three timeless albums, each one an incredible expansion of his sound—a peerless, flawless discography. It wouldn’t even be crazy to say he released the best album of the 90s, the 2000s, and the 2010s. One of our greatest artists.

Here's a great little bit from an interview with Russell Elevado, the recording engineer on Voodoo. It was cool the way D'Angelo would sometimes treat his voice like another element of the backing track, not really worrying about how clear or intelligible it is.
