Human Trafficking is the exploitation of humans for purposes such as sexual and labor servitude where something of value is exchanged through the means of force, fraud, or coercion. **For minors under 18, force, fraud, or coercion does not need to be present.**

What does human trafficking look like in Tennessee?

Human trafficking has been reported in EVERY CITY, EVERY COUNTY, and EVERY ZIP CODE in Middle Tennessee. Statistics like these can be shocking, but are likely only a fraction of the actual problem.

Although anyone can be impacted by human trafficking, people of color, immigrants, & people who identify as LGBTQIA+ are disproportionally exploited. Experiencing multiple risk factors & systems of inequity can increase vulnerability, putting someone at risk for trafficking.
