Today, we released the first government-wide strategy to tackle plastic pollution and announced a new goal to phase out single-use plastics from federal operations by 2035. Thanks to President Donald J. Trump & Vice President JD Vance, we are leading efforts to end plastic pollution. whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/…

6/ His speech was perfect and deeply impactful. During a week when we could have lost all momentum, Biden's prime time address helped keep the attention on the issue and pressure on the negotiations. I'm not sure the historic 2022 gun bill would have passed without that speech.

A remarkable transition: Kenya is Africa's leading country when it comes to renewables. In 2000 fossil fuels contributed 60% to electricity generation. Today it is 6%. In 2023 electricity was from almost 50% geothermal, 20% wind+solar and 22% hydro. @EmberClimate

As I think of these men who ought to feel so grateful - instead raging and raving at those who have so much less reason for gratitude - I marvel at our human ability to convert happiness to misery. Open the fucking bottle, drink it now, and seize the joy while you can. END

Today I offered a motion to help ensure Elon Musk no longer has unlawful access to Federal Government systems and the private, sensitive data of taxpaying Americans. All but one House Republican voted No and defeated my motion, choosing cowardice over patriotism.
